The Creation

The result of a passion for cooking and excitement for adventure!

Last year (‘23) I worked and travelled through Australia. During the travels I missed out on a basic, a necessity, for at least 3 times a day; kitchen utensils.

I didn't have any basic kitchen utensils around;

In hostels for example; dull knives, someone else is using what you’re looking for, it’s dirty or they don’t even have it.

Backpacks have limited space, and even with a car or caravan, it's inconvenient to carry a full kitchen set.

I thought why not create a compact, all-in-one cooking tool that can be used anywhere. Something that’s:

Small carrying,

for big cooking

Everything you need

Anywhere you are

The goal was to create a tool; small enough to carry around, with everything you need, to use anywhere you want.

In the comfort of my kitchen at home, I had a wide variety of utensils to cook with. Think of large/small, expensive/cheap, good/bad quality. For some reason, I always preferred to use the tiny, cheap knife over a big fancy knife. This knife was the good size, for 2/3 person meals, handy and comfortable to use.

During the process of designing the idea, I kept the dimensions of the previously mentioned knife in mind.

Small knife, big in use and easy to work with.

Reflecting on my cooking experiences over the years and the travels I did last year, I selected the eight utensils, that are in my opinion; necessities in the kitchen. With these utensils, you can basically make anything.

Think of whisking up a batter for a pancake breakfast, filet a freshly caught fish, chopping up some onions, peel the potatoes or cutting up an apple. It’ll be so convenient to have around!

The designing process was complex. After sketching, ‘cutting and gluing’, constantly tweaking and improving the design, I think we figured out a way to make it work.

In March ‘23 I found a designer that could help me transfer the idea I had on paper and cardboard assembly, into a CAD (computer-aided drawing) program.

We kept improving the design and by the end of June ‘23, I received the first 3D printed prototype!

We are currently working hard to develop the first functional prototype that we can use and test. Our aim is to receive feedback from adventurous users like you, and we are so excited to see the first edition of the product!

I can’t wait to jump in the car again with a group of friends for an adventurous trip, with lots of cooking and camping. To actually have this tool around this time is what I've been dreaming of for the past year!
